Soudabeh Majidi, is a dear and ardent volunteer of “Friends of Vafa in Canada”. She is a graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design. Her early drawings and paintings concentrated mostly on portraits, nature and its beauty. However, when she became familiar with the perils of wildlife through Iranian Cheetah Society, her art also began to feature these big cats as well.
As she is a dedicated volunteer of Vafa, painting Vafa’s dogs was therefore a natural transition for her. These days however, the many dogs of Vafa have taken a big portion of her creative time.
Not only have the faces of Vafa’s dogs found their ways to Soudabeh’s paintings, but also adorned many purses, bags, scarves, decorative boxes, and pillows.
She had an art exhibit featuring her work called “Art for Rescue” which took place on sunny and beautiful Sunday June 4, at her own studio. At this exhibit, which was attended by dozens of supporters, Soudabeh’s art were on display and for sale at reduced prices, and all profits went to support the Vafa Animal Shelter. Attendees were greeted by a tireless Soudabeh, with her beaming personality, and snacked on vegan sandwiches, and other refreshments.
Friends of Vafa used this occasion to also celebrate the birthdays of two other Vafa volunteers, Soheila and Farah. This occasion was celebrated by serving a delicious birthday cake, courtesy of Ms. Motamedi (Vafa’s Founder).
Mr. Habib Miri, one of the managers of Vafa Shelter, accompanied by his lovely wife and son were the guests of honor at the exhibit. We wish that all other staff and volunteers of Vafa Shelter in Iran, could have joined us for this great event.
We wish Soudabeh continued success and energy in all her endeavors in the years to come.

سودابه مجیدی، از یاران خوب “دوستان وفا در کانادا” هنرمند نقاش و دانش آموخته ی کالج هنر انتاریو است. کارهای اولیه سودابه بیشتر روی پرتره و طبیعت و زیبایی های آن تمرکز داشت. گرچه زمانی که از طریق انجمن یوزپلنگ ایرانی با خطراتی که حیات وحش ایران را تهدید می کند، آشنا شد، یوزپلنگ ها، این گربه های بزرگ هم به تابلوهای او راه پیدا کردند، و در ادامه سگ های وفا آنقدر بقیه ی سوژه ها را هل دادند و خودشان جلو آمدند تا کاری کردند که بیشتر آثار سودابه به چهره زیبای آنها اختصاص پیدا کرد.
با ابتکار و نوآوری سودابه، چهره سگ ها نه تنها بر تابلو، که بر کیف های دستی، شال، جعبه، کوسن و … نقش بست.
نمایشگاه نقاشی “هنر برای نجات” روز یکشنبه 4 جون 2017 در استودیوی نقاشی سودابه مجیدی به همت او برگزار شد.
در روزی آفتابی و شاد، در کنار دریاچه ی انتاریو، ده ها تن از این نمایشگاه دیدن و خرید کردند.
در این نمایشگاه، آثار سودابه به قیمت های بسیار مناسب برای فروش قرار داشت و تمامی درآمد حاصل از آن به پناهگاه های وفا اختصاص یافت.
سودابه، هنرمند خستگی ناپذیر ما، با رویی خوش و با ساندویچ های گیاهی و میوه و شیرینی و چای از بازدیدکنندگان پذیرایی کرد.
دوستان وفا در کانادا این برنامه را به جشن تولد هم تبدیل کردند و تولد سهیلا و فرح هم با کیک خوشمزه ای که خانم معتمدی (بنیانگذار وفا) سفارش داده بود، به شیرینی برگزار شد.
آقای حبیب میری از مدیران پناهگاه وفای تهران به همراه همسر دوست داشتنی و پسرش میهمانان مخصوص این مراسم بودند. جای دیگر دوستان پناهگاه در جمع دوستان تورنتویی خالی بود.
برای سودابه ی عزیز سلامتی، موفقیت و انرژی بسیار آرزو می کنیم.
