Having a grandmother who is kind, an animal lover and also an environmentalist, is the reason that young Kian participated in an annual competition at his school called “Coin Drive”. This competition allows students to become involved with impactful charities around the world. When Vafa was nominated in the competition, all fifth grade students at Epiphany school gathered information about Vafa and made a slideshow, and gladly Vafa won the first place.
The 30 students of grade 5, along with their two teachers were able to gather a very good donation for Vafa shelter, Iran’s first and biggest animal shelter of its kind. They also participated in a personal Skype question and answer session with none other than Kian’s grandmother and founder of Vafa Animal shelter Ms. Fatemeh Motamedi.
With the love of animals in our hearts, even small efforts can lead to huge results. This is why Vafa would like to take this opportunity to officially thank 5th grade’s teachers and students.
In order to thank these students in our own special way, we have named 30 of our furry friends at our shelter after them. Pictures of these furry friends were sent to the school for everyone’s enjoyment.
We now know that Vafa has many kind and tireless friends in the Epiphany school, and our dogs also want to show you their thanks with a big bunch of wagging tails.
We hope that your kindness and generosity is contagious and that this attitude of respect and helpfulness towards animal kind can spread to any and all other locations, regardless of differences in culture, religion, or ways of life.
