Sometimes it doesn’t take a village, it takes an army to rescue a dog and find a forever home for her/him.
Last week the Friends of Vafa in Canada was a part of an army for a very sweet mission. In only 4 short days they were able to showcase magic no one else could do. They taught us that as a group we can accomplish anything.
Soheila, the group leader, planned everything from the start to end. Farnoosh and Amir were at the airport to welcome Maxi and Lucky, two of Vafa’s dogs with disabilities. They transported them to Giti’s house, their temporary foster home. Farnoosh and Amir stayed at Giti’s until after midnight to help with bathing and feeding, and to help the dogs to get relaxed and go to sleep.Shima made a big pot of homemade Chicken stew for Maxi and Lucky, and delivered it to Giti’s house with her husband, Salman, before Maxi and Lucky’s arrival.
Maryam and Arash, a very beautiful couple, went to visit the dogs the day after. Arash and Amir bathed both dogs with special shampoo and over the phone guidance from Farimah. They also got Maxi and Lucky ready for their checkup appointment.
On the third day, after Fereshteh and Soudabeh made a vet appointment, Touraj and Arash took them to Dr. Ghazi, who is one of the best human beings we know. After the check up and making sure that everything is fine, Dr. Ghazi sent Vafa’s dogs’ home with a gift.On the fourth day, Mahnaz and her husband Navid drove Maxi and Lucky to another city where Afarin was waiting for these two angels. Finally, Afarin and Bahman, the kindest couple ever, took Vafa’s guests to a private airport to fly on a private, yes private, airplane to their forever home. Wondering about Maxi and Lucky? They are now in their new home with their new friends.
Yes, sometimes it takes an army to rescue dogs, and to find them a forever home.
In this video, you can hear Giti’s voice. She is talking to her guests expressing happiness and excitement, thanking all those who helped these dogs. She was like an angel hosting them, and we know that she misses them very much.
Friends of Vafa is a registered group in Canada, and its main mission is to help Vafa’s dogs. If you are living in Canada and would like to join them, please go to their Facebook page and send them a message.
