The North York Visual Artists (NYVA) is a community group of artists in North York (Toronto, Canada), who share the passion for painting as a strong tool to express their minds. “A common interest group for artists of all levels to meet, learn & network”, they say on their Facebook page. This group was established 18 years ago and has achieved a number of milestones. The next event they are holding is the Spectrum, Spring Group Show, April 14-28 at the Toronto Centre for the Arts displaying artwork from 20 of their artists.

Our very own Soudabeh Majidi who is an animal lover and a very active member of Friends of Vafa in Canada, is also a member of NYVA. She presented Vafa Animal Shelter in one of the workshops of this group of artists and they all painted a portrait of one of the residences of Vafa Animal Shelter. The group kindly donated all the bags to be sold for helping the shelter.

All the bags were donated to Vafa Animal Shelter on March 26, in a small gathering of Friends of Vafa in Canada. There will be a report on this event in a few days on this page. We suggest you don’t miss it!
